How many times will my credit be pulled when I buy a home?

Usually just once. We get you to the right lender the first time, so one pull for your pre-approval is often all it takes.

If you do want to shop rates, go ahead. Mortgage pulls made close together count as one for your credit score, so comparing lenders does not drag it down.

A credit report for a mortgage is usually good for about 120 days, so if you buy within that time, you may not need a new pull.

Pulls for a car, a card or furniture are different. Wait until after closing for those.
