What if the builder pushes back my closing date?

It happens, mostly on homes still being built. Weather, inspections and supplies can move the date, and builder contracts usually allow some delay.

If you are renting, ask your landlord about going month to month near the end of your lease, so a late closing does not leave you without a home.

If your rate lock will run out because of a builder delay, ask the lender who pays to extend it.
