What is a CDD fee on a new home in Florida?

A CDD is a special district that paid to build the roads, water lines and other parts of a new community. Homeowners pay it back each year on their property tax bill.

CDD stands for Community Development District. It is not the same as an HOA, and a home can have both.

The CDD amount is part of your monthly cost, so it belongs in the payment you compare. Ask for it on every Florida home you look at.
